An early start and we loaded up Danny’s WRX for a trip to the Tasman Peninsular, dosed up on V and on a mission to capture a sunrise at Tessellated Pavement. We got there in the nick of time for what was looking to be a bit of a dud sunrise, but eventually we got some nice red clouds in the sky and managed to get a few great images. I hope to get a few more up on the blog at some stage but for now here is this one, taken on a Canon 30D with Canon 10-22mm EF-S lens, Manfrotto tripod and 222 pistol grip head. We also visited the Fossil Rock lookout and blowhole and got some pictures there too, though the sun was up by this stage.

Nice shot!
I was in Tassie a couple of weeks ago, and found the Tessellated Pavement very interesting. Unfortunately, we were there in the middle of the day, when it was raining, but I would have loved to be there for a sunrise.

Once again, another great shot.
Just as @Martin has said, pretty much the same luck… every time I go there it seems to be always raining too…

Have just returned from a wonderful trip around Tassie, yes, the Tasman arch and Tessalated Pavement was spectacular, we too were drenched in an afternoon shower but decided it was ‘now or never’ and glad we made the effort.
Port Arthur visit was a memorable ocassion and some much history to be absorbed. A very picturesque state and wello worth the visit.
