Well wedding season is rapidly approaching and it is great getting your enquiries for Wedding Photography.  It is going to be a busy one I feel and I am really looking forward to the summer.  I have some new packages and offers on the way which I am very excited about so if you are planning your wedding in Hobart, or anywhere in Tasmania soon, get in touch so we can book you in!

On a different note, I thought I might put up a few images from a trip into Tasmania’s south west I made a couple of months ago with good photographer friends Andrew Skegg and Alex Wise.

Westerway Station had a very nostalgic feel about it.

An old railway signpost. I guess this means 49 miles to Hobart?

This old abandoned property is around the back of Maydeena.

And of course we stopped at Mt Field National Park. The shot of Russell Falls particularly hard to grab due to the wind spraying my lens with a fine mist which was visible in most of the shots I took of the falls.

The South West is only a short drive from Hobart and very very worth it. There is lots of ecotourism planned for the Maydeena area, not to mention the National Park, lakes, mountains, and little townships. Spend a day or a weekend and explore!

Bay Of Fires, Tasmania

Posted on 12, Jul

Another quick post here with some shots from a recent visit to the Bay of Fires and Binalong Bay on Tasmanias North East Coast. First up a shot from Binalong Bay.

And this shot is around at Cosy Corner, further up the Bay of Fires. Something different to the norm here.

Bay of Fires

Such a lovely spot and well worth a visit or even better a stay for a few nights.

Just been having a big cleanout of my photo library, and came across this one from July 2008, when my mate and very talented landscape/seascape photographer Alex Wise and I visited Taroona Beach for some sunrise photos.

Zoo Doo

Posted on 12, Jan

We took a trip out to Zoo Doo the other day, its a wildlife park just out of Richmond, near Hobart. As well as the usual native animals they have a camel, a pair of male lions and a couple of tigers.

This shot of their camel was taken from the “Safari Bus” that runs you around the upper paddocks, through the Emu and Ostrich pens, farmyard animals and lastly the camels paddock.

Late 2008 I attended an AIPP conference in Warnambool, Victoria.  One of the activities was a trip down the Great Ocean Road to visit some of the spectacular coastal features, like the Twelve Apostles.  I was fortunate enough to be lent Canons flagship dSLR, the EOS 1Ds MkIII.  Typically the sunset that evening was very ordinary.  It was far better the next day, but anyhow here are some of the images from the trip.
