Dash Dash

Just been going through some stuff from the past few months that has not been blogged or published before.  This one is the first shot I took with my Canon EOS 5D MkII.  As you do when you get a new camera, you throw a lens on and go for a walk down the street, and the first image on the camera was this shot of the road markings on the corner into my cul-de-sac.

2009 TPPY Awards

Yesterday the 2009 TPPY (Tasmanian Professional Photographer of the Year) awards were held.  The TPPY is run by the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photographers) and each state holds a similar set of awards in the lead up to the big one, the APPA (Australian Professional Photography Awards) later in the year.  Phew, so many acronyms.

Anyhow, the above image picked up a silver award.  Since it was my first time entering such a competition, I was rather stoked.

I spent yesterday afternoon on an Engagement Shoot with Michael and Kathleen.  Michael recently popped the big question and now they are in the process of organising anengagement party and of course the big wedding.  Blustery conditions saw us spend most of the time around the Hobart CBD, which features some great old sandstone walls and all sorts of nooks and crannies, and of course plenty of graffiti, which all make for some great photos. More to come soon.

5D MkII Unboxing Photos

After much waiting, the Canon EOS 5D MkII is finally available! I had been on the waiting list for a fair while and today my new baby finally arrived. Of course, the delivery guy came in the driveway JUST as I started to steam the milk for my coffee, but that was a sacrifice I was willing to make.

Anyhow, I ran upstairs to grab the camera so I could get some unboxing photos. Why? Because I am a nerd, OK?? :)
