KombiCam is a unique photobooth mounted in a Volkswagen Kombi Campervan, and is available for hire for weddings, parties, corporate events, promotions, festivals and markets.  KombiCam is heading to as many events around Hobart and Tasmania as it can, so keep an eye out for it, you can not miss it!

When you go in KombiCam, it will take 4 photos, and then you get two prints with the 4 photos on them.  The prints come out the slot in the surfboard.

Colour or black and white, the choice is yours.

You can fit a fair few people inside KombiCam too, though it helps to be good friends.

The prints from KombiCam can be customised to your event too, with the addition of logos, names, dates and other details.

A large procession of drummers, and people with large penguin shaped lanterns left the wharf near the School of Arts, in Hunter St, and headed around to the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, where those that got there early enough could see some fire twirling and fire eating. It was a bit of a battle to get through the crowd to get a few shots, but I got there and thanks to the low light ability of the Canon 5D MarkII I grabbed a couple of shots and got out of the way of the crowd I had pushed through to get to the front of.

After this, the show moved into the courtyard at the museum but we could not stay as the large animal costumes were scaring Lucas. Was certainly a different way to spend a Friday evening.

Second place was taken by Tony Quinn and Naomi Tillett in the new Nissan GTR R35.  There was only a 3 second margin here… very close!

The Whites came in 3rd in the Lamborghini Gallardo Supperleggara, only 12 seconds from the win.

Matt Close came in fourth in the black Porsche 911.

Despite looking to still suffer chronic understeer in this shot, the new Subaru Impreza WRX STI of Dean Herridge pulled a very impressive 5th.

Jim Richards and Barry Oliver had to settle for 6th place…

South Australian Steve Glenney won the Classic category in his ’81 Commodore, beating Porsches, Ferraris and all sorts of high-performance cars.  Just goes to show its not what you drive, but how you drive it.  Getting very sideways in this shot.  Well done Steve!

There was a good showing of classic Aussie muscle in the event…

Of course Mozza was there in a Gemini, seems he wasted money buying 4 tyres though…

Skylines, EVOs and STI’s made up a decent portion of the fleet, here we see an R34 GTR.

And Beaus’ brother Troy in his WRX STI!  These guys grew up in the next road up from me, we used to hang out a bit together as kids.  They were always into motorsport even back then, they started out in Go Karts.

Congratulations to all the participants and organisers of Targa Wrest Point.  A great event and I am looking forward to the 2010 event.  Oh, and Targa Tasmania in a couple of months time…!

An eventful Day 1 of the first ever Targa Wrest Point.  An early start and into the car for the drive down to Dover in Tasmanias south.  A quick stop to pick Ash, my shooting partner for the day, up from his hotel and before long we were at the stage and ready to go.  

My brief for the stage was to get shots of the cars coming though this corner, with the road snaking off into the background.  This little Fiat 500 seems to have been in every Targa event ever!  Awesome little beast!

A Citroen rolled during this stage causing it to be downgraded to a touring stage about half way through.  

This set the tone for the rest of the day.  We found out spots at the Cygnet stage, only to find out after an hour and a half or so waiting that the stage, along with the two before it, had been cancelled, due to delays caused by accidents, amongst other things.  So we made a mad dash to the end of the Oyster Cove stage and had to walk some distance into the stage to get some shots there.  I love old 911′s, especially in such classic livery…

Liam Coyle is a friend of mine from the local Subaru WRX club.  Only a relative newcomer to rallying, he is doing great things and looked good in his STI.

Sadly, the beautiful Porsche 911 of Pye and Geelan also had a bit of an incident near the start of this stage.  

Off to the Pelverata stage in the morning, so best get some sleep now!

The Jensen FF was the worlds first (non offroader) 4WD car. It was also the first car in the world to have Anti Locking Brakes. They were very expensive and very thirsty cars. Here is the cockpit of a Mk1 FF.

As we were crossing the road to the Federation Square to go to the Game On Exhibition, I spotted the Jensen Car Club of Australia holding a display in the entrance to the centre. Here is a nice Interceptor III. I was actually a member of the club, but let my membership lapse. I should join back up. There was some very nice cars on display, with a blue Interceptor III (a similar color to my Hillman Imp GT), a silver SP, a black and a white Jensen-Healey, a silver CV8, a red Interceptor III, a blue Interceptor III Convertible, a blue FF Mk1 and a red F MK1 Vignale bodied car. Beautiful.

Targa Tasmania has been run and won for another year, here is a shot for you of a nice old Porsche 911 Carrera taken on the Risdon Brook stage today.

A lone cyclist relaxes on the Hobart Parliament House lawns after the Freedom Ride, where cyclists rode from Port Arthur to Hobart to raise money for Live Free Tasmania.

On Friday April 4 I photographed the launch dinner for Live Free Tasmania, an organisation that help kids with drug and crime problems. Here is a photo of Bob Engwicht who is heading up the Tasmanian operation.
