I love my plastic “toy” cameras, I am slowly building a collection of them, the latest being a Lomography Diana F+ Edelweiss Edition.

What better thing to do at midnight on a Saturday night than to jump in the car with some friends and take photos?
We got to the summit of Mt Wellington, admired the view and then concluded it was far too cold for our 30 something bones, so we were soon back in the car looking for a warmer location. We ended up at the eastern shore end of the Tasman Bridge.
Long hand held exposures, lots of lights and zoom lenses are good fun.
Finally, a shot looking down the Derwent River towards the Hobart CBD and Wrest Point Casino.

Well it has been super busy in the world of Nigel Honey Photos and I have a few things to blog, and some are actually going back a little while now partly because I have been slack, and other things have had to go to print before I blogged them. Anyhow… Tonight Mel, Lucas and I headed to “The Flight of the Snow Petrels” Children’s Parade, part of the Antarctic Midwinter Festival.
A large procession of drummers, and people with large penguin shaped lanterns left the wharf near the School of Arts, in Hunter St, and headed around to the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, where those that got there early enough could see some fire twirling and fire eating. It was a bit of a battle to get through the crowd to get a few shots, but I got there and thanks to the low light ability of the Canon 5D MarkII I grabbed a couple of shots and got out of the way of the crowd I had pushed through to get to the front of.
After this, the show moved into the courtyard at the museum but we could not stay as the large animal costumes were scaring Lucas. Was certainly a different way to spend a Friday evening.

Just been going through some stuff from the past few months that has not been blogged or published before. This one is the first shot I took with my Canon EOS 5D MkII. As you do when you get a new camera, you throw a lens on and go for a walk down the street, and the first image on the camera was this shot of the road markings on the corner into my cul-de-sac.

No-one in Hobart seems to like the design of this building, it is regarded as a bit of an eyesore, however it provides some nice patterns and shapes for photos.
