I have spent the last year or so trying various coffee varieties from different roasters both locally here in Tasmania, and from interstate. Yeah yeah I know I am a geek and a nerd and all of that, so I could not resist bidding on this Steve Jobs plush toy from PodBrix when I saw it on eBay. I could well have been the only person to have spotted it, or maybe just the only person to see it who was geeky enough to want it, because no-one else bidded on it! Which means Steve was all mine for the princely sum of 99c plus $12 postage. WIN!

Just been going through some stuff from the past few months that has not been blogged or published before. This one is the first shot I took with my Canon EOS 5D MkII. As you do when you get a new camera, you throw a lens on and go for a walk down the street, and the first image on the camera was this shot of the road markings on the corner into my cul-de-sac.

Yesterday the 2009 TPPY (Tasmanian Professional Photographer of the Year) awards were held. The TPPY is run by the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photographers) and each state holds a similar set of awards in the lead up to the big one, the APPA (Australian Professional Photography Awards) later in the year. Phew, so many acronyms.
Anyhow, the above image picked up a silver award. Since it was my first time entering such a competition, I was rather stoked.
